Authors and Artists


Tom Lewis is a Professor of English at Skidmore College. Lewis is author of The Hudson: A History, Divided Highways: The Interstate Highway System and the Transformation of American Life, and Empire of the Air: The Men Who Made Radio.

Peg Boyers teaches creative writing at Skidmore College and is executive editor of Salmagundi and the author of two volumes of poems, Hard Bread (2002), and Honey With Tobacco (2007) both published by the University of Chicago Press.

Tom Sleigh’s most recent poetry collections include Space Walk, winner of the Kingsley Tufts Award, and Far Side of the Earth, named an Honor Book by the Massachusetts Society for the Book. He teaches in the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Hunter College.

Akiko Busch is the author of Geography of Home and The Uncommon Life of Common Objects. Her essays have appeared in the New York Times, Metropolis, and House & Garden, among other publications. Currently, she’s a regular contributor to the New York Times Sunday regional section.

Kysa Johnson is an artist that draws from scientific sources such as string theory and the mapping of the subatomic decay of particles. Her landscape paintings are built by a combination of molecular structures of environmental pollutants.
