Work Opportunities

Internship and Workstudy experiences offer students opportunities to explore possible career options in museums. Although students are assigned to a specific department within the museum, the small size of the Tang staff allows for interaction and observation between students and all of the areas of the museum.

Internships
Each semester a number of college students from various disciplines work with museum staff at the Tang. Past internship projects have focused on creating lessons for our Destination:Exploration outreach program for schools and libraries, writing for the curatorial department, conducting research for collections, creating small exhibitions from collections, and assisting with museum conferences.

Workstudy
The Tang Museum employs Skidmore College students in various part-time positions including gallery monitors, curatorial aides, collections assistants, and museum store assistants.

For information on internship or workstudy opportunities, please contact the individual departments.
