Vik Muniz “Shovel”

A special limited edition print by Vik Muniz
Created by the artist to support the programs of the Tang Teaching Museum.

To celebrate the groundbreaking for the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College, internationally acclaimed artist Vik Muniz created a special limited edition of 50 (20” x 25”) Iris prints.

The Muniz prints, priced are at $2,500.00 a piece.

The artist’s ongoing series of illusionistic renderings, meticulously fashioned out of dirt, have included everything from a pair of binoculars to a rhinoceros. While Vik Muniz frequently uses soil as his medium, he has experimented with a range of nontraditional materials, fashioning the likeness of Sigmund Freud out of chocolate syrup, Medusa from spaghetti marinara, Haitian children out of sugar, and the replication of a Corot landscape drawing from 18,000 yards of thread.
