On October 10, 2008, Bruce Ottmer (Rensselaer, NY) sat on a bench on Lark Street in Albany with a painting by his late wife, Claire Durani Nack. Determined to bring her art to a larger audience, but unable to find a venue to exhibit it, Ottmer decided to share the painting with passersby on the street.
Inspired by Ottmer’s gesture, For You presents artwork created by artists who have passed away, but whose work and memory continue to impact individuals in the greater Capital Region. Accepting all submissions from an open call, For You brings together these works in a rotating exhibition that celebrates the artists' lives and talents.
