Artist talk with Pam Lins

Brooklyn-based artist Pam Lins explores the psychological and aesthetic potential of objects and images. While Lins refers to her work primarily as sculpture, she consistently questions traditional notions of the medium through its relationship to other forms of representation, most notably photography and painting. Mixing a love of formal, modernist art with a madcap, idiosyncratic sensibility, Lins’s work interrogates both itself and its engagement with architecture and viewers.

Professor and Chair of the English Department at Skidmore College

Join Mason Stokes in conversation with artist Donald Moffett as they discuss ideas, catalysts, and the context in which Moffett has been making art for the past twenty years. Stokes, an Associate Professor of English and chair of the English Department at Skidmore College, teaches courses in African American Literature and the history of sexuality.

Extensions of the Eye, curated by Laura Mintz ’12, presents photography by Barbara Morgan, Naomi Savage, and Kunié Sugiura from the Tang Collection. Using the body as a point of departure, these three artists explore issues of identity, process, and space.

Join us for an evening of spoken word poetry with National Poetry Slam Finalist Jared Paul and College Unions Poetry Slam Finalist Caroline Rothstein as they explore social and political issues through performance poetry.
