Prior to joining the Tang Teaching Museum in June 2016, Sean spent eleven years at The Museum of Modern Art, New York, where he managed the Design and Book Store, overseeing buying and merchandising, and organizing author and artist events. In New York, he also co-organized the 2015 Video Art and Experimental Film Festival and worked for the Tribeca Film Festival from 2013-2016.
Sean holds a B.A. in Media and Philosophy from CUNY Hunter College, where his scholarly interests included German horror film and ethics. He has a M.A. in Liberal Studies – Film Studies and Philosophy from CUNY Graduate Center, where he studied aesthetics with philosopher and film scholar Noël Carroll, and wrote a thesis on the work of experimental filmmaker Ernie Gehr. Sean is also an artist, and has shown his work at Gallery OneTwentyEight in New York.
