Joan Kelsey’s Silver Lining

Join us for a performance by Joan Kelsey’s Silver Lining on the rooftop of the Tang. Founded by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joan Kelsey, the Troy-based band is an unusual string folk trio composed of intricate guitar, dancing fiddle, and haunting cello. They weave striking melodies that call upon the immediate, the memory, and the metaphor, expertly balancing darkness and light.

For its 19th season, the Upbeat on the Roof summer series highlights regional musical talent every Thursday, July 11 through August 22 from 7:00-8:00 pm.

Performances are free and open to the public. The rooftop is accessible via the museum elevator or outdoor staircases. In the case of inclement weather the series is held inside the museum.
