About the Speaker

Christine Hallquist is a leader in creating solutions to climate change. She was the CEO of Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC), Vermont’s second-largest electric utility. Christine was the first transgender CEO in the nation to transition on the job, and the first major transgender political party candidate. During her campaign, she was endorsed by a number of organizations and individuals, including Barack Obama, Elizabeth Warren, and Joe Biden. Today, Christine is the CEO of the Quebec-based company Cross Border Power, whose mission is to offer renewable power to industry and consumers at competitive rates that effectively use storage technology.
