Join us on Thursday, October 1, at 7:00 PM, for this week’s Tang Live, a Skidmore student takeover event on the Tang’s Instagram. Skidmore students will be performing compositions in response to a work of art by Marie Watt, Companion Species (Saddle). Watt is an American artist and citizen of the Seneca Nation with German-Scot ancestry. She was born in Seattle, Washington, and lives and works in Portland, Oregon. Her work draws from history, biography, Iroquois protofeminism, and Indigenous teachings; in it, she explores the intersection of history, community, and storytelling. Watt’s art is in the exhibition Never Done: 100 Years of Women in Politics and Beyond.
