Join us Thursday, December 9, at 6 pm, for presentations by the student curators of More Than You Notice: Photographic Reflections of Humanity and Socialization. Students will present on photographs from the exhibition that they have researched, analyzed, and discussed throughout the semester in the social work course “Power, Privilege, and Oppression,” taught by Skidmore Assistant Professor of Social Work June Paul.
Concepts explored range from intersectionality, empowerment, resilience, civil and human rights, activism, community organizing, and more, with an emphasis on sensitivity to and awareness of social and cultural contexts. Student curators will facilitate dialogue about how these themes become inextricably bound to individual self-concept, as well as to the ways in which they are perceived by society.
The exhibition runs December 9–12, 2021. Student co-curators of the exhibition are Joseph Biddle, Bella Brickman, Isabella Broden, Zaye Buanno, Corey Carter, Coltrane Cho, Shannon Deneen, Elisia Foyle, Tess Gordon, Aleessea Joe, Ronnie Perez, Talia Remba, Isabel Ryen, Isaac Slater, Alyssa Sparrow, Julian Velez, Max Volk, Leah Whyte, Rimmele Wood.
