Shelter Dance Performance

Skidmore College Dance Students will perform the choreography of Professor Ruben Graciani, Associate Professor of Dance in Opener 25: Hildur Asgeirsdottir Jonsson, Wachenheim Gallery, Tang Museum.

Professor Graciani describes his piece: “Shelter is a choreographic investigation of ‘home.’ It is an exploration of both the people with whom we find a ‘place’, and the ‘place’ itself which we call home. I have lived on an island of some sort (Puerto Rico, the Outer Banks of NC, and Manhattan) for most of my life. When I saw the work of Hildur Asgeirsdottir Jonsson I was touched by how immediately it connected me to my sense of being at home, being on an island, and being with a partner.”

The dance will be performed in the gallery at 15 minute intervals, from noon to 1:00 PM.
