Join the Philosophy Department for the annual Charles N. Dowd lecture Wednesday, February 21, at 6 pm. This year’s lecture will be given by Shaun Gallagher, Lillian and Morrie Moss Chair of Excellence in Philosophy at the University of Memphis. Professor Gallagher’s talk is entitled “Watch What You’re Doing: Lessons from Deafferentation.”
Shaun Gallagher is the Lillian and Morrie Moss Chair of Excellence in Philosophy at the University of Memphis. He holds a secondary appointment as Professorial Fellow at SOLA, University of Wollongong (Australia). He was the recipient of the Humboldt Foundation’s first round Anneliese Maier Research Award (2012-2018), and he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Copenhagen in 2021.
