Join us Thursday, July 18, at 6 pm, for a performance by Troy-based rock band Great Mutations, who write melodic, literate songs about love, work, and death.
Since their formation in 2012, Great Mutations have released four studio albums, including their most recent LP, Gifted Kids, in April, and a live album of their first Upbeat on the Roof performance in 2017. Band members include singer and guitarist Matthew Thouin, bassist Mitchell Masterson, drummer Ian White, and guitarist Tommy Krebs.
For its 23rd season, the Upbeat on the Roof summer series highlights regional musical talent every Thursday, July 11 through August 15, at 6 pm.
Performances take place on the lawn outside the Tang and are free and open to the public. Visitors are invited to bring picnic blankets, camping chairs, and their own food and drink to make it a night!
Tang Art Educators offer craft kits for kids at every concert, starting at 5:30! A different craft will be available each week. This week’s craft is Bird Kites! Participants are invited to create a small bird kite with paper and string. All projects are suitable for children aged 5 and up, with adult supervision recommended. Materials will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
