Join us Saturday, October 11, at 2 pm, for Family Saturday: Floating Forms. After viewing Jim Hodges’s sculpture at the entrance of See in Now: Contemporary Art from the Ann and Mel Schaffer Collection, participants are invited to create their own sculptures using thread, pom poms, beads, flowers, leaf cutouts, and construction paper.

Family Saturday programs foster multigenerational creative cooperation through looking at artwork, discussing it, and engaging in a hands-on art-making activity. Programs run from 2-3:30 pm and include a tour of selected works. All programs are free and open to the public, and suitable for children age 5 and older, accompanied by their adult companions. No registration required; supplies provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

The background pattern is composed from the Tang dingbat, an abstracted diagram of the building. The four steps of the dingbat, like the four letters of Tang, symbolize thought, learning, and aspiration.
