Join us Saturday, October 25, at 2 pm, for Family Saturday: Who Am I? After viewing ransome’s sculpture The Block, featured in Up to Us: Black Dimensions in Art, 1975–Tomorrow, participants will create their own collage portraits on wood blocks, using magazines and Posca markers.

Family Saturday programs foster multigenerational creative cooperation through looking at artwork, discussing it, and engaging in a hands-on art-making activity. Programs run from 2-3:30 pm and include a tour of selected works. All programs are free and open to the public, and suitable for children age 5 and older, accompanied by their adult companions. No registration required; supplies provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

The background pattern is composed from the Tang dingbat, an abstracted diagram of the building. The four steps of the dingbat, like the four letters of Tang, symbolize thought, learning, and aspiration.
