Family Saturday: Moving Stripes of Color

Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) with Museum Educator for K-12 and Community Programs Ginger Ertz in Alma Thomas, Tang Teaching Museum, 2016

We will make mobiles with stripes of color, using paper, cardboard, colored tape and colored wire to create movement inspired by Alma Thomas’s paintings.

The program runs from 2:00-3:30 pm and is suitable for children ages 5 and older, accompanied by their adult companions. Reservations are required. For additional information and reservations, call the Tang’s Visitor Service Desk at 518-580-8080.

The background pattern is composed from the Tang dingbat, an abstracted diagram of the building. The four steps of the dingbat, like the four letters of Tang, symbolize thought, learning, and aspiration.
