Join us Saturday, August 15, at 2 pm, for Family Saturday: Foil Sculptures! After viewing Armored Landscapes by Kathy Schimert, on view in the exhibition A Feeling of With, participants will create their own sculptures using foil and small wooden dowels.

Family Saturday programs foster multigenerational creative cooperation through looking at artwork, discussing it, and engaging in a hands-on art-making activity. Programs run from 2-3:30 pm and include a tour of selected works. All programs are free and open to the public, and suitable for children age 5 and older, accompanied by their adult companions. No registration required; supplies provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Katy Schimert on “Armored Landscapes”

In spring 2014 artist Katy Schimert was interviewed by Skidmore College students Heather Ashe ’14 and Adam Smith-Perez ’14 about her work, “Armored Landscapes,” 1994, in the exhibition “One Work,” 2014.

This interview was part of a series of interviews with artists in “One Work” organized and conducted by Skidmore students in the Art History course AH-351A. The series was funded by The Alfred Z. Solomon Residency Fund.
