Through the run of the exhibition Mark Thomas Gibson: We Are A Constellation, a member of the Skidmore community will become a Town Crier for a brief performance at 2 pm on Tuesday through Sunday.

The Town Crier will don a costume, ring a bell, and deliver two announcements: news from that date 250 years earlier and news from the present day. The brief performances last only a few minutes.

Together, the performances will create a record of this important year while asking how history is remembered, narrated, and made.

The performance is free and open to the public.

The background pattern is composed from the Tang dingbat, an abstracted diagram of the building. The four steps of the dingbat, like the four letters of Tang, symbolize thought, learning, and aspiration.
