Co-sponsored by Sustainable Skidmore, this event featured community leader and writer Susan Clark. Clark presented Slow Democracy: Rediscovering Community, Bringing Decision Making Back Home (Chelsea Green Publisher, 2012), which she co-authored with Woden Teachout.

Clark spoke about the variety of strategies members of communities across the United States are adopting to participate in local politics and reinvigorate them. She also led small-group, interactive discussions about processes that allow a more inclusive, deliberative and citizen-powered local governance.
