Upbeat on the Roof with Dust Bowl Faeries

Dust Bowl Faeries photograph by Noah Fowler

Dust Bowl Faeries is an ethereal electro-acoustic gothic folk ensemble led by artist and musician Ryder Cooley. Accordion, lap steel, saw, ukulele, keys, and percussion combine to create their unique, otherworldly sound. Additional faeries include Karen Cole, Jen DuBois and JoAnn Stevelos. Hazel, a taxidermy sheep, joins the Dust Bowl Fairies as spirit animal go-go dancer.

Celebrating its 16th season, the UpBeat on the Roof summer series highlights regional musical talent in an array of styles.

UpBeat on the Roof takes place every Friday, July 1 through August 26 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm and is free and open to the public. The rooftop is accessible via the museum elevator or outdoor staircases. In the case of inclement weather the series is held inside the museum.
