For this special Family Saturday on Frances Day, we invite you to enjoy food, music, tours, and art-making from noon – 4:00 pm. Our Family Saturday project will be Build a Better World—we will look at artist Nick Cave’s Soundsuit in the exhibition If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day: Collections of Claude Simard. Each participant will create a 3-D sculptural collage using world maps as our building material. While we will have some poster board, tape, and glue for bases and connecting, the main art supplies will be world and other maps, ready to cut and construct.

Saturday, July 15, from noon to 4:00 pm, is the 4th annual Frances Day, celebrating the namesake of our museum, Frances Young Tang. We invite the public to a community open house full of art, art-making, food, music, and more. Make your memories of the day last with our very special photo booth! Make a button or two to wear and share. And check out our printing station, too.

Family Saturdays foster multigenerational creative cooperation through looking at artwork, discussing it, and engaging in a hands-on art activity. Most programs run from 2:00 – 3:30 pm and include a tour of a specific exhibition.

All programs are free and open to the public, and suitable for children ages 5 and older, accompanied by their adult companions. Materials are provided. For additional information and reservations, call the Tang’s Visitor Service Desk at 518-580-8080.
