Whole Grain: Experiments in Film & Video — Five Films by Bruce Conner

Film still of Bruce Conner’s Crossroads, 1976

Join us on Saturday, October 7, at 4:00 pm, for a screening of five seminal films by legendary artist and avant-garde filmmaker Bruce Conner (1933-2008). Conner worked in a range of mediums, including paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, and collages. He is best known for his work in found-object assemblages as well as filmmaking, in which he pioneered a quick-cut method of editing, incorporating footage from a variety of sources. The program includes two of his best-known and most influential works, A Movie (1958) and Crossroads (1976). This event is part of Whole Grain, our new experimental film and video series.
