Party like it’s 1970! Bring your best moves and dancing shoes to the Tang to celebrate Elevator Music 37: David Mancuso—The Loft, a tribute to the legendary dance party hosted by David Mancuso (1944–2016). Mancuso’s world-renowned dance parties offered a space for people to come together and express themselves freely without judgment. Mancuso, considered by some to be one of the first DJs in music history, inspired generations of musicians and DJs and set the stage for the underground dance parties and gay nightlife of the ’70s and ’80s. A collaboration with the Tang Student Advisory Council, Skidmore College Radio WSPN 91.1, and Skidmore Pride Alliance, the event will feature the best dance hits from the golden age of the disco era, with food, drinks, and a disco-themed craft station.
