On Thursday, March 28, at noon, join Monica Andrews ’19 for Spotlight Series: Ivory Tusk Carvings. Andrews will lead a single-object tour of the tusk carvings and facilitate conversation. All are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Sweets will be provided.
Spotlight Series is organized by Monica Andrews ’19, an Art History major and Studio Art minor at Skidmore College. Monica has been involved at the Tang Teaching Museum since the fall of 2017 and is the 2018-2019 Meg Reitman Jacobs ’63 Endowed Intern. The Meg Reitman Jacobs Internship is a one-year, pre-professional internship for a Skidmore junior or senior in the Tang Museum’s Education Department. As the Jacobs Intern, Monica works with College and Public Programs, assisting with the organization, planning, and execution of events. The year-long project, Spotlight Series, explores rarely seen works from the Tang collection through single object tours that facilitate open conversations surrounding the artwork, artist, and issues addressed by the object.
