In the Afflict the Comfortable exhibition, June 27 - October 4, 2015, Cliff's Notes was paired with the following words by Susan Sontag:

There are more edifices that call themselves museums in the United States of America than in all the rest of the world combined. (…) This is a country that’s made up of peoples from everywhere in the world. There are 187 languages spoken by schoolchildren in the borough of Queens. Mixtures of populations and mass transfers of populations are, of course, a feature of modern times. But nowhere is this as extensive and deep-rooted as it is in the United States. Here, not surprisingly, museums were really designed as collections of everything from everywhere.
