Photographer Malick Sidibé captured the lives of Malian youth on the streets, in dance halls, at parties, and in his studio in Bamako, which he opened in 1962. The Tang’s collection of 12 works began with a photograph given by Peter Norton in 2014; 11 works were later donated to the museum in memory of the collector Claude Simard.
