And All You Suck In Is Oil presents work from the Tang Collection and on extended loan by artists Rita Ackermann, Kim Jones, and Marlene McCarty. The exhibition takes its title from a series of McCarty prints and refers to the issues of desire and violence explored in each of the artists’ works.
Using absurdist elements and at times humor, the works allude to a violence that is neither explicit nor straightforward — rather a mysterious, anxious turbulence seems to simmer within their surfaces.
