Kara Walker: Narratives of a Negress

Complicated and troubling intersections of race, sex, and power were exposed in a survey that featured drawings, cut paper silhouettes and new multimedia works that conflate Civil War-era slave narratives and contemporary realities. Organized in collaboration with and traveled to Williams College Museum of Art, Williamstown, Massachusetts, and supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
