Upbeat on the Roof with Blue Ranger

A four-person band plays on an outdoor stage.
Upbeat on the Roof with Blue Ranger, Tang Teaching Museum, July 6, 2023

Join us Thursday, July 6, at 6 pm, for a performance by Blue Ranger on the lawn outside the Tang.

Albany-based band Blue Ranger remind us that there are small moments of magic in the everyday. Formed in 2015, the trio has been crafting soft-focused folk that celebrates the beauty in our uncertainties with an existential flair. Following their 2018 LP Saving A Beauty (Five Kill Records), comes a fresh single—“True Blue”—where candid, autobiographical tales dance among a wealth of imaginary characters. The trio brings their propulsive folk influenced sound to improvisatory heights in live settings—the product of countless years moving sound.

For its 22nd season, the Upbeat on the Roof summer series highlights regional musical talent every Thursday, July 6 through August 17, at 6 pm.

Performances take place on the lawn outside the Tang and are free and open to the public. Visitors are invited to bring picnic blankets, camping chairs, and their own food and drink to make it a night!

Crafts on the Grass

Tang Art Educators offer craft kits for kids at every concert, starting at 5:30! A different craft will be available each week. This week’s project is silly willy sock worms! All projects are suitable for children aged 5 and up, with adult supervision recommended. Materials will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
