Join us Thursday, August 17, at 6 pm, for a performance by indie pop band Nathan Meltz and The House of Tomorrow on the lawn outside the Tang.

Nathan Meltz writes pop songs about failed utopias, backed up by his band The House of Tomorrow. Combining influences like your favorite mid-period Kinks records and classic Elephant 6 bands, The House of Tomorrow uses fuzzy indie-pop songs to tell stories about radical left communities, religious visionaries, and drug cults.

For its 22nd season, the Upbeat on the Roof summer series highlights regional musical talent every Thursday, July 6 through August 17, at 6 pm.

Performances take place on the lawn outside the Tang and are free and open to the public. Visitors are invited to bring picnic blankets, camping chairs, and their own food and drink to make it a night!

Crafts on the Grass

Tang Art Educators offer craft kits for kids at every concert, starting at 5:30! A different craft will be available each week. This week’s craft is Straw Rockets! Participants are invited to decorate a paper rocket that can be launched via a straw. All projects are suitable for children aged 5 and up, with adult supervision recommended. Materials will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
