From Keystone XL to Fracking: How millennials are changing the tide to a clean and just energy future

Outspoken advocate and internationally-recognized former elected official Dominic Frongillo will share his perspective as the youngest councilmember in Caroline, NY, and delegate to UN climate talks on how young people around the world are leading successful movements for sustainability and political change. He will share inspiring stories from the front lines of the fight against climate change, from the United Nations to fighting fracking in New York.

Dominic Frongillo made history at age 22 by becoming the youngest person to serve on the Town Council in Caroline, New York. Internationally recognized for his work in climate change and clean energy, Frongillo is a five-time delegate to the United Nations and a finalist for the national 2012 Barbara Jordan Leadership Award from the Young Elected Officials Network. In 2012, Frongillo co-founded Elected Officials to Protect New York, a bipartisan initiative of over 850 elected officials from all 62 counties calling to keep fracking out of New York, contributing to the unprecedented statewide movement that in December 2014 successfully won a ban on fracking in New York State. Frongillo speaks frequently on topics of climate, sustainability, and social change.

Community Reception to follow discussion, all are welcome. Free CFL light bulbs will be given out to anyone attending!
